Electric power is an invention that we nowadays definitely take for granted. We use it in everything from our computers at home to our phones in our pockets, and even the watches on our wrists. Back in 1957, a watch company in Lancaster Pennsylvania, Hamilton, was working to bring that electric power to the wrist. They eventually succeeded, naming their product the Ventura, the world’s first electrical and battery powered watch. With its triangular, shield-like design, the Ventura would quickly become an icon in the watch world, being worn on the wrists of celebrities and movie stars alike.
