Top Tips: Choosing Your Wedding Band
Congratulations! You said yes to your forever partner and have the perfect engagement ring. Now, how do you choose a wedding band that lets your unique style shine through, while complimenting your beautiful engagement ring? It’s easier than you think! Check out some of our tips below on how to select the ring you’ll say ‘I Do’ with.
Made To Match:
Take into consideration that your engagement ring might have what we call a “true match”. This is the wedding band that matches up to your engagement ring like a mirror image.
This beautiful matching band will encompass the same width as your engagement ring shank, the same size diamonds (if applicable) and also, it will magically have the same curve and fit. Hence, a true match!
This is probably the most traditional method used when selecting a wedding band up against your engagement ring.
Your Ring Your Choice:
Get creative! If a true match band doesn’t appeal to your personal style, then embrace the stacker style bands! Get your creative juices flowing and work towards finding that balance between a beautiful contrasting band, while not distracting from your engagement ring either. This option can be a lot of fun! We always let brides know that if they’re really leaning towards a different style band, the true match is only an anniversary present away down the road!
On the same note of unique style wedding bands- don’t be afraid to go custom if necessary. This can be a great option for brides with vintage engagement rings, and rings that need a curved band to get a perfectly flush fit. We have a custom designer on site, which will allow your vision to come to life!
Fit For Your Lifestyle:
How will you be wearing this ring? By itself mostly (keeping engagement ring home), while working with your hands, stacked with others, etc. Keeping your lifestyle in mind when shopping for the ideal band is key. Decide if you’re up for the maintenance required for pave bands and a more detailed style, like an eternity band. If not, no worries, a classic gold or platinum band never goes out of style!
Also, take a look in a mirror at a true match band, as well as a different textured, complimentary band. Which do you love the most worn with your engagement ring and with out it? You’ll wear the wedding band solo more than you think, so loving your band by itself is so important!
Look Early On:
Last but not least, we always recommend our brides not to wait until too close to the wedding date to start looking. When you’re in the store for ring cleanings, take a couple of extra minutes to try some wedding bands on. If you keep picking the same style of band consistently, then you’ll feel good about it for many years to come. If you go back and forth between different bands on your wishlist, then bring your significant other, friends or family in with you to give a different perspective. This way, when it’s time to order your rings (approx 3-6 months before the wedding), you’ll be good to go!
