Hamilton Clock Towers: "Keep The Clocks Running" Fundraiser

The East and West clock towers atop the former Hamilton Watch factory no longer display accurate times, and are unreliable. Luckily, these clocks are on their way to being restored.

Hamilton Clock Tower"A $100,000 fundraising effort begun by the association has been jump-started with a $25,000 lead donation from Hamilton, the now Swiss-owned watchmaker which opened a downtown Lancaster retail store in July [in the old Bowman Technical School building]."*

"'Hamilton takes great pride in its rich history in the town of Lancaster,' said Hamilton CEO Vivian Stauffer. 'As a brand enrooted in the community, it only felt natural for us to restore the iconic clock towers that once served the employees of our old factory. This restoration project is a testament to our unwavering commitment to our great history and heritage.'"*

Thanks to the "Keep the Clocks Running" fundraising event which kicked off on 10/21/23, the donations for the the restoration gain a boost. The in person fundraiser took place on the grounds of the Columbia Ave, condominium in the historic Hamilton factory.

While the needed money to restore the clocks was already raised, the fundraiser was held with the hopes of raising additional money for future maintenance.

In addition to the in person fundraiser, Brent Miller Jewelers & Goldsmiths also held an online auction on our website, entitled "Save The Clocks". 100% of the proceeds raised from the online auction was donated to the "Save The Clocks" effort.

The online auction was held on the website from 10/20/23-10/26/23. The online auction consisted of 54 items, which included 2 orbs, and light fixtures from the Hamilton Clock Towers, 2 Hamilton watches donated by Brent Miller Jewelers, as well as various NHL memorabilia, handbags, jewelry, home decor, and gift certificates.

Brent Miller Jewelers & Goldsmiths raised $1,475 from the online auction for the "Save The Clocks" effort.
